Metropolitan Police is holding public recruitment stalls and events throughout London.

I was privileged to represent Met Volunteers’ contribution to the attendees of a Metropolitan Police recruitment fayre at New Scotland Yard, their wonderful new building next to the Ministry of Defence.

Speaking about the role of Community Volunteer, I was happy to give an outline of the role from the view of a long-standing volunteer. Recommending that Met job applicants join officers on the beat to learn about their role in a real situation.

We were a group of Community based volunteers helping and assisting the meeting, officers and applicants.

See the QR codes for more information on various roles and entry paths.

I was particularly pleased to be able to photograph the flags flying on the roof of the Ministry of Defence from the roof of the New Scotland Yard building.

Flags on the Ministry of Defence building

The issue of flags is particularly potent for us here in Tower Hamlets, as we want to help ensure that the correct flags are on display at all times.
