Greater London is currently divided into 12 BCU’s for policing purposes. Each BCU containes two boroughs.
As you can see from the picture, Tower Hamlets is within Central East (CE) BCU, sharing a borough Commander with Hackney.

Our current Borough Commander is DCS Conway.
Whilst there was discussion at the time when Borough policing became shared with 2 boroughs, as becoming less good, we now have the situation arising, that our Borough Commander has to further stretch his work load to also be responsible for front line policing for the whole of Greater London’s twelve BCUs.

As 24-hour police stations are becoming less available, I recommend you subscribe to the Safe Haven app, which enables you to exchange emergency requests for shelter with the nearest Safe Haven location. App page

Safety advice
Being in touch with local police via the Met Police website is more secure than using third party sites.
Any contact with Tower Hamlets Police via their website will result in a confirmation reference number being given with a downloadable version of your contact session. Do not download it to a shared computer.

Alternative ways to contact the Met:
• Outside all front counters that are due to be closed or moved to reduced hours, weatherproof phones will be available for direct connection to 999 or 101 services, which are currently being upgraded to digital connections.
• All other Met services remain accessible through multiple channels: 24/7 emergency response via 999 and non-emergency reporting via 101 and online.
• In-person appointments can be booked with officers to come and see victims of crime, offering a convenient, face-face service for the public.
• Video appointments, which have proven highly effective and popular, offering privacy and convenience, will also be offered as an alternative.
• Neighbourhood policing teams continuing to operate locally, providing face-to-face engagement through ward bases, street briefings, and community events.
• Language line services are available through 101 and 999, regardless of whether an individual uses their own phone/mobile device or a weatherproof phone.
