Remembrance Armistice Day on 11. November. Remembrance Sunday is the Sunday preceding this, in 2025 it’s 9. November. Please see our event calendar for all known Remembrance Day events. Please contact us if you want your event included.

This Remembrance season, there are many ways to come together in reflection and commemoration:

  • Picking up a poppy from one of our dedicated collectors or while shopping at participating supermarkets and stores including Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Waitrose, Aldi, Lidl, Co-op, One Stop and B&Q.
  • Observing the two-minute silence on Armistice Day.
  • Attending a local Remembrance service.
  • Save the dates:
  • 8th November – Festival of Remembrance, BBC One at 9pm
  • 9th November – Remembrance Sunday, BBC One
  • 11th November – Armistice Day, 11am national two-minute silence
  • Together, we will always ensure the sacrifices of those who served are never forgotten.

Armistice Day at the National Memorial Arboretum

This year the National Memorial Arboretum will broadcast their annual Armistice Day Service of Remembrance, live from the Armed Forces Memorial.

The service commemorates the signing of the Armistice which brought an end to the First World War and remembers all those who gave their lives in service to their country since 1914.

I celebrated the day by volunteering to serve the army veterans with Royal Parks Police. They provided policing of the event with many national security agencies involved. These included the SAS.

I was extremely grateful to get the opportunity to help such distinguished service personnel for this solemn occasion.

I was stationed near the War Memorial in St. James’s Park. It is next to Horse Guards Parade. The ceremonial procession of soldiers and ex-service men and women starts and ends there each year.

After the main ceremony in Whitehall, the celebrants return to horse guard’s parade for a debrief celebration. British Army bands join them. The bands play around the War Memorial until all have returned.
