We are based in Tower Hamlets, local, voluntary community crime fighters, aiming to increase safety, improving crime prevention and reporting. See our partners.

Our admin Team

Christine Townsend, known as Crissy, is a highly experienced community activist. She is the founder of the Teviot Action group and organiser of elderly activities and children’s clubs. She has 15 years of community safety involvement with Ward Panels. She also participates in council committees. Currently part of the ‘Fit and Feisty’ activity on Teviot Estate.

Refused her MBE, as she is not different from anybody else.

Used to be in charge of Neighbourhood Watch in Tower Hamlets

Professionally trained business secretary, web master, previously company director, LEA school governor. Currently Met Police volunteer, VAWG and NPFH, Scam & Fraud Champion. 18 years of community safety involvement ward panels, council committees.

Aim

Results driven to reduce racism, intolerance, hate, extremism and terrorism, crime, anti-social behaviour offline and online, in Tower Hamlets, London, we are non-discriminatory. Tower Hamlets specific service.

Service

Supportive members’ only WhatsApp groups. Various online Social media groups and public WhatsApp channel. We have an open Telegram group. Apply here. Meetings and discussion for members (apply here to become a member) and with local law enforcement and public services providers to increase safety for our local residents. Mailing lists, surveys and news distribution.

articles published on this blog are the personal view of the person under whose name articles are published. To get the right to publish on this site join our organisation and request access to this blog.

As we are a truly independent organisation, our members publish their own opinions.

In lieu of a full statement, please note

  • we do not share any data with Met Police, Tower Hamlets Council, THNWA, Ourwatch, nor any other organisation by default.
  • We encourage crime report information to Met Police and Council, RSL ASB services, as requested by our users, subscribers.
  • You will not be given any stickers or signs.
  • We forward anonymised crime statistics and prevention information to Tower Hamlets Police and Tower Hamlets Council Safer Neighbourhood Teams as well as SNB.
  • We refer members to Tower Hamlets Police SNT Ward Panels on request only.
  • We do not create any watch schemes where members see each other’s details.
  • All our members/users are verified and known to us.
  • Our mailing list may be shared with local law enforcement with permission of subscriber only.
  • We support referral to Tower Hamlets Council Safer Neighbourhood Events on request of members only.
  • No people other than our subscribers have access to our live chats and services.
  • Our free WhatsApp Channel and Telegram group does not show details of subscribers..

Environmental policy

We don’t use leaflets, stickers, exception of our signed constitution, one copy of meeting papers. Our carbon footprint is very low.

Equality standards

Please complete our Equality Questionnaire, Tower Hamlets Crime Watch wants to survey and monitor that we are enabling equality for followers and members. All questions are voluntary and publication of results will be completely anonymous. We shall retain this data securely stored for evaluation purposes to show how equality considerations are fully respected. This equality questionnaire aligns with the Equality Act 2010.
