Dealing with ASB and crime we need to follow some steps to ensure that our actions are as effective as possible.

When things worry you, you may not find a volunteer who is available to advice you what to do at the moment an incident happens

Follow these simple steps to achieve attention being paid to your local problems by law enforcement and support agencies.

Most problems happens because of 5 reasons:

1. large-scale anti-social behaviour
2. repetitive crime like burglary and drug-dealing after it happened
3. Council services
4. Homeless
5. High profile crime like murder and ongoing crime in the area (this list is not exhaustive)
6. Other issues

Achieving results on problem category 1 and 2

I strongly recommend that all problems not needing 999 calls to be reported online in three ways.

You may use one of our reporting forms to keep a record to submit.

• Report ASB online on the Council website – you will get a council reference number
• Council Neighbourhood Services ASB team:
  • 24/7 reporting line 020 7364 5015 (option 6)
  • neighbourhoods.ASB@towerhamlets.gov.uk

All crime emergencies must be reported to 999.

For non urgent Met Police reporting you can ring 101 but you can also

• Report it directly to the Met Police website – you will get a CAD* reference
  • Use Met Police run social media sites
    • Twitter @MetCC for reporting
    • you will get a CAD* reference
• Report directly to your local ward MET SNT team online method you will get a SCA reference
• Go to Met Police website
• click on your area
• Input your post code
• Your local SNT team will appear after a short wait
• Scroll down the page to Introducing your Safer Neighbourhoods Team
• click contact us
• Submit report you will get a SCA* reference

All 3 methods will result in being given a reference number and your case going onto official statistics, which are counted towards calculating the policing needs for your area.

Download the app called ‘Find it Fix it’ on Google for Apple, choose Tower Hamlets, you can submit pics in evidence of your problem. NOX silver canisters for example use the

1. Find it Fix it app,
2. choose report it
3. choose cleansing dirty street,
4. take pics
5. upload report

For problems with category 4

Download the Streetlink app to report homeless people and get them some help.

Category 5

Only 999 calls are appropriate.

ASB Case Review

• Three separate anti-social behaviour incidents have been reported within six months
• You can request an ASB Case review Anti social behaviour (ASB) case review

‘No action taken’ is defined as:

• the reported problems have not been acknowledged i.e. no one has contacted the victim to advise what action would be taken
• the reported problems have not been appropriately investigated
• the victim’s vulnerability and/or the potential for harm has not been considered and this has affected potential service delivery
• no action has been taken because information has not been shared between partners and this has affected potential service delivery.
