I’m really happy and feel a sense of relief since I’m off Ourwatch.

I did promote them for years but it was misguided loyalty. I got funded in 2012 to create a Neighbourhood Watch Association and I did. What brought on the change in attitude were:

  • Complaints. People reported being attacked after putting Neighbourhood Watch stickers in their windows.
  • Time. The amount of meetings I was asked to attend was 😟 seriously infringing on my freedom to do anything else. The Ourwatch site was not popular for Tower Hamlets, just a few hundred registrants. A lot of people left with my departure.
  • Verification problems. Ourwatch does not require any verification and NextDoor’s verification method is not reliable. A letter with proof of address is easily forged. 50.000 social homes being used for fraud in London.
  • Privacy. You have no privacy on Ourwatch. You are disclosing your address and contact details. Most people want to get to know each other first and feel they can trust one another before exchanging address.
  • Public communications. Admins are restricted in what they can post online, it is censored. I don’t like this and think it’s ineffective.
  • Product promotions. I’m keen to get the cheapest and best products for people instead of having to promote product a sponsor offers.

It was impossible to verify 85% of people on the Ourwatch website.

With this new Crime Watch ⌚️ initiative I’ve started, I’m happy. I don’t force people to register on any other website to take part. Third party providers always have their own values.

I want people to be able to get support when they need it without having to become responsible for their area 🗺️ as coordinators. It’s impossible to plan your own life if you are contracted to be coordinators. I enable people to chat to each other without having to live in close proximity of each other. Social media sites are the conductors for this process, and better so than the restrictive Neighbourhood Watch membership system.

Crime Watch does not have coordinators. As a Crime Watch follower, you are part of a like-minded community. Everybody wants to see safe, clean, stable, and crime-free communities.

Unfortunately there is no funding for this freedom of choice. I do this as a hobby.

It is very important to have the latest operating systems and phone technology to provide a safe service. I’m a computer programmer and web master. I have a lot of experience working on the Internet, in communication, and with law enforcement.

I provide a service for people who use modern communications technology. We hope this is time-saving and doesn’t drain your resources. Additionally, we strive to enhance your sense of well-being.

There is no point sending confidential documents to people who have no sense of internet or personal gadget security, don’t update their phones or computers and are sharing their passwords against good advice. Therefore not having a membership system and not having to store documents for the organisation removes a lot of service liability.

You may just read the articles here, subscribe to newsletters and web publications as well as join any social media channels as you wish with a name that you invented. Nobody wants to know as long as you don’t commit a crime.

Tower Hamlets police have largely stopped using social media and now just publish out via Met Engage. This is very restrictive for reach as very few people register on Met Engage. But I give you the opportunity to easily check your Met Engage messages by providing an easy and quick to use link.
